Year One

Upon moving to Philadelphia, I challenged myself to draw one page of comics about every week that went by for my entire first year in a new city. I ended up drawing 2-3 pages a week, coming up with the 129 page book that I self-published in 2012. You can read this entire thing here or buy it here.

Week 14: 7/19/11 – 7/24/11 – Locust Lake

Pg. 32

Amy Leigh: “So. That’s my crush update. Now gimme yours. Spill it!”

Ramsey: “Honestly, I don’t really know. I’m having fun flirting with out-of-town dudes but that’s as far as it goes. No Philly crushes.”

“Anyway, I really just got here still. I’m mostly focusing on making real friends… and keeping up on comics.”

“Rover, don’t let me go to bed until I finish this page.”

Rover (thinking): “Sigh… such a martyr…”

Ramsey (thinking): “It’s okay. I’ll really catch up this weekend. I’ll draw ALL day Saturday.”

Rover (thinking): “a surefire way to make friends.”

Cellphone: BZZ, BZZ, BZZZ

Pg. 33

Beka: “Raaamsey! Space just opened up! You have to come on ladies camping weekend!!”

Rover: “Well?”

Ramsey: “Shh!”

Ramsey (thinking): “wellll…. okay…”

Ramsey: “Whose idea was it to go camping on a 100-degree weekend?”

Beka: “I know! What luck! We planned this trip almost a year ago!”

Ramsey (thinking): “I’ll catch up on comics next week.”
