June-July: 6/15 – 7/24/15

Well obviously I’ve let this photoblog slide pretty hard. I’ve still been taking photos – I just haven’t been making the time every week to make a post. It’s surprisingly time consuming (between the downloading, editing, uploading, and captioning). I’ve also just sort of been cruising in a steady routine that doesn’t always compel me to take photos. I think having instant photo uploading with instagram took away the ‘small details’ photos that I used to take on my real camera. So that leaves me not pulling out my real camera as often.

Here’s a post from the whole summer!

From the green room at Johnny Brenda’s before Mikey played a solo set.

Tim Kinsella playing a weird electronic set that I don’t think anyone was expecting? A lot of people left. I think the point was to alienate his audience but I’m not sure.

Babysitting for my favorite petite fille – Cat! Cat is my old nanny baby Luc’s older sister. His parents were doing a big house clean-out so while Luc napped I took Cat to the park.

Cat rules. She was being very shy about wanting to join in with the LARPers but once she got that sword – look out.

Beach snacks – half the reason you go to the beach on the east coast.
P1330844

The beach experience ‘down the shore’ is so different from ‘going to the beach’ in Michigan. In Michigan it’s nature, sand dunes, isn’t crowded, and is small and quiet. On the east coast it’s almost more like going to a carnival where you can pay money to walk on a crowded beach. It’s definitely fun for what it is… but is just a totally different thing. I’m sure you can find nature-y beaches that you don’t have to pay to go on, but in four years I still haven’t made it to one. Most people go to the boardwalks.
