New Site

Hey y’all! I know it’s been relatively sparse in the world of everydaypants for the past 6 months or so, and a big reason for that is because I was getting ready for a website overhaul. My last website was a little tricky to update, which meant that it easily fell behind and became outdated. Outside of my photoblog, which I regularly posted to, I didn’t add new content – no new comics or commissions or random drawings. I would just make the occasional announcement in the news section, and make a weekly photoblog post.

With this new site, I hope to change that! The layout is super easy and the backend is even easier, which means I hope to keep it updated with the latest commissions, pet portraits, and short comics I’ve been working on – new content often.

So, hopefully you’ll consider putting this site back into your regular rotation of places to check in on. Tumblr was fun for a while, and while I’m sure I’ll still use it, I feel much better about having a place where all this content lives in a really organized fashion.

Thanks so much to Deanna Romero for creating a website that’s so easy to use and so easy to navigate. It looks exactly like I was hoping.

What have I been up to for the past few months?

put out Everydaypants #3, a new issue of my yearly collection of short comics

-illustrated a whole book for my publisher, Zest Books. It’s called Daisy to the Rescue – True Stories of Daring Dogs, Paramedic Parrots, and Other Animal Heroes

-overhauled my backyard and put in a brick path, planted a lot of things in my front yard, and generally got ready for a summer of outdoor hangs

-tabled the Brooklyn Zine Fest and the Chicago Zine Fest

-put together a call for submissions for the next issue of the nanny zine!

-pet portraits on top of pet portraits

I’m about to go into a summer off from working as a nanny, which I’m hoping will jumpstart a regular series of short comics that will be posted on this website. So keep an eye out! Only one more month left of the 9-5 work life.

Thanks for checking in.
